Corum Company History: The company was founded in 1955 in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. Watchmaker Gaston Ries and his nephew, and creative designer, Rene Bannwart worked together to make original and trend-setting watches. The name Corum comes from the Latin word quorum which means the necessary number of people needed to make a society or assembly official. Their logo, the upright key, goes back to their first motto, "The key to perfect time." It still remains relevant with their newest motto, "Unlock and conquer." Since its inception Corum has strived for creativity and individuality in the world of fine watches.
