Summer is just over the horizon and for many, that means plenty of fun in the sun. If you have summer plans that include time spent on boats or yachts, then you’ll need the appropriate watch to take with you on board. Here are some of our favorite nautical watches for men to sport right now.

Rolex Yacht-Master 40

One of the most popular luxury watches inspired by a nautical lifestyle, the Rolex Yacht-Master 40 for men comes in an assortment of materials and colors. This particular two tone Rolex Yacht-Master 40 ref. 116621 beautifully marries durable stainless steel and precious Everose rose gold–the brand’s patented 18k rose gold alloy.

On the 40mm steel Oyster case water resistant to 100 meters, sits the characteristic rotating bezel. In a striking contrast, the Everose gold bezel features a matte sandblasted background along with high polished raised numerals. The solid pink gold details on the Rolesor Yacht-Master continue onto the Oyster bracelet, with steel links framing the center gold links. Plus, there are also rose gold details on the black dial, from the surrounds on the luminescent hour markers to the center Mercedes-style hands. Also on the dial is the date window at 3 o’clock accompanied by the familiar Cyclops lens affixed to the sapphire crystal above it.

Powering the two tone Everose gold Rolex Yacht-Master ref. 116621 is the in-house Caliber 3135 automatic movement with 48 hours of power reserve.

Panerai Luminor 1950

While Panerai watches began as dive instruments for the Italian Royal Navy, today they are some of the most coveted luxury watches for men. Although Panerai Luminor watches are not positioned as yachting watches per se, they are most definitely ready for any sea adventure thanks to their robust construction.

Launched in 2002, the Panerai Luminor 1950 PAM00127 was not only a limited edition model but was also the beginning of the now popular Luminor 1950 collection. Panerai only produced 1,950 examples of this particular Luminor timepiece and it was created as a tribute to the original Panerai watches from the 1950s. The modern iteration dons a hefty 47mm cushion-shaped case, made even bulkier due to the signature lever-controlled bridge protecting the winding crown. The black dial fo the PAM00127 features the typical stark Panerai layout of the 3,6,9, and 12 oversized numerals along with thin stick indexes. There’s also the rose gold center hands along with a rose gold hand on the running seconds subdial at 9 o’clock.

The limited edition Panerai Luminor PAM00127 runs on the Panerai Caliber OP XI automatic mechanical movement, visible through the sapphire caseback.

Corum Admiral’s Cup Trophy

The very first Corum Admiral watch sailed onto the scene in 1960, however, with its square case and dressy style, it doesn’t resemble modern versions of the brand’s flagship watch. Today, the Corum Admiral’s Cup watch flaunts its sailing side proudly with colorful nautical pennants serving as hour markers on the dial.

This stainless steel Corum Admiral’s Cup Trophy watch comes equipped with a rich blue dial displaying the famous maritime flags. The 41mm case includes the customary eight-sided bezel along with a bridge protecting the winding crown. For added practicality, there’s a discreet date window at 6 o’clock along with a minute track running around the periphery of the dial.

This nautical-inspired Corum watch runs on an automatic movement and is water resistant to 100 meters.

Ulysse Nardin Maxi Marine Diver

The history of the Ulysse Nardin watch brand is deeply rooted in marine heritage as the founder, Ulysse Nardin, set out to make precision marine chronometers when he established his company in 1846. Fast-forward to today, and that maritime link is still going strong at manufacture Ulysse Nardin with plenty of nautical-inspired timepieces such as the Maxi Marine Diver. Although this timepiece is actually built to explore the underwater world, it looks fabulous on deck too.

The Maxi Marine Diver ref. 260-32-3A is an especially precious version of Ulysse Nardin’s dive watch, crafted in 18k white gold. On the 43mm white gold case is a striking blue unidirectional rotating dive bezel flaunting a distinct wave pattern and marked with white gold numerals. The wave pattern continues onto the blue dial, which sets the background for oversized luminescent indexes and center hands. The dial also houses a date window, a running seconds display, and a power reserve indicator. Emphasizing the sporty nature of this ultra high-end nautical sports watch is the vibrant blue rubber strap outfitted with a white gold deployant clasp.

At the heart of the Maxi Mariner Diver is a self-winding mechanical movement–which can be viewed via the transparent caseback–with about 38-hours of power reserve. Limited to only 500 pieces, the Maxi Marine Diver ref. 260-32-3A is water resistant to 200 meters.
