For a repair shipment
Follow the current Easy Ship or intake instructions supplied for your request. Include the requested repair/contact information, but do not send government ID, original presentation boxes, warranty papers, or other sales/full-set materials unless the repair intake team specifically asks for them.
1. The Essential Documentation
Before you even reach for the bubble wrap, ensure your paperwork is in order. A watch without context is just a mystery box.
- Contact Information: Clearly list your full name, phone number, email address, and return shipping address.
2. The Double-Box Packing Method
To prevent theft and damage, your packaging should be discreet and sturdy.
Step 1: Wrap the Watch
Wrap the watch in soft microfiber or bubble wrap. If it’s on a bracelet, place a piece of foam or cloth between the case back and the clasp to prevent scratching during transit.
Step 2: The Inner Box
Place the wrapped watch into a small, sturdy box. Fill any empty space with packing peanuts or crumpled paper so the watch does not move when you shake the box.
Step 3: The Outer Box
Place the inner box into a larger shipping box. This "double-boxing" provides a crush zone and makes it much harder for someone to tamper with the contents.
3. Security & Shipping Labels
When shipping high-value items, discretion is your best friend.
- Avoid "Luxury" Labels: Never write "Gray & Sons Jewelers" or "Luxury Watches" on the outside of the box. Address it simply to "G&S" or use the specific name provided by our intake team.
- Insurance is Mandatory: Use a carrier that allows for high-value insurance (like FedEx or registered Mail via USPS).
- Tracking & Signature: Always require a Direct Signature for delivery.
Final Checklist Before Sealing
- [ ] Is the watch secured so it doesn't rattle?
- [ ] Did you include your contact info and service request?
- [ ] Is the outer box reinforced and sealed with heavy-duty packing tape?
