Rare vintage Rolex Cosmograph Daytona ref. 6240 in stainless steel, featuring a profesionally refinished silver ''Panda'' dial with contrasting black subsidiary registers and luminous baton hour markers. The reference 6240 was an experimental and historically important transitional Daytona, becoming the first reference in the collection to feature screw-down chronograph pushers for enhanced water resistance. The 37 mm Oyster case is complemented by a black acrylic tachymeter bezel, which exhibits chips and scratches consistent with its vintage age. Powered by a manually wound Valjoux-based chronograph movement. Introduced circa 1965 and produced until approximately 1969 in fewer than 2,000 examples, the reference 6240 laid the foundation for future generations of the iconic Rolex Daytona.
