Watch Battery Replacement at Gray & Sons - Full Service

Quartz watches are battery operated, as opposed to automatic watches which use your body’s movements to gain energy and power your watch. Quartz watches usually do not require service to the movement unless the battery is drained or damaged. Gray & Sons Jewelers will carefully replace your watch’s battery, cleaning any battery residue from the watch’s interior, and making sure your movement has not been adversely affected in any way.

Once we receive your watch to replace its battery, our Master Swiss-trained Watchmakers:

1. Remove the watch’s case backing, battery housing, and depleted or damaged battery;

2. Install a new battery and reset the circuit if needed;

3. Confirm that the watch is working properly and efficiently;

4. Inspect all gaskets and test your watch based on manufacturer-specific timing deviations, pressure, and water resistance requirements;

5. After your watch has been quality controlled, it will be carefully reassembled and promptly returned to you.

Once you receive the box and send your watch, one of our Master Watchmakers will evaluate it and contact you with a free estimate. If you approve of the estimate we will proceed with the repair, which generally takes 2-3 weeks.
If you wish to repair at a different time we will ship the watch back to you at no cost to you.
